Usher
Our friendly ushers are integral to helping our shows start on time! As an usher, you will help take tickets, guide patrons to seats, answer directional questions, help evacuate the building in case of an emergency, and pick up trash after the show. Before the doors open, the Theater Group/ASM house manager will go through some basic training about the assigned roles, run through the evacuation process, and answer questions. This volunteer shift is about 4 hours.
Stage Door
The Stage Door Minder will sit by the entrance to the stage and ensure that all those who pass are cast/chorus/crew only. You will report any concerns to the house manager as soon as possible. This volunteer shift is about 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Ticket Scanner
The ticket scanners will sit or stand by the Rialto Theater entrance and use a phone or tablet to scan barcodes on tickets. A friendly attitude and some efficiency/savviness with tech is very helpful in this role. This volunteer shift is about 3 hours.
Merchandise
At the Merch Table, you will help sell merchandise for our show! This role requires being comfortable during brief but intense periods of high traffic to the merch table before the show and at intermission. You will take note of customers' orders, carefully wrap and place items in bags, and handle cash and card payments. This volunteer shift is about 3 hours.
Set Volunteers
Set volunteers will help install the set during Tech Week and and tear down the set after the final performance. You will need to be able to lift and carry objects of varying weights and carefully follow instructions from the crew. This volunteer shift varies, roughly 4-8 hours depending on the day and intensity of the work, but it's a lot of fun to be a part of transforming the Rialto stage into a little village! Load-in is 8am on December 9th. Tear-down is after the final performance on December 18th.
Refreshments Table
Help place refreshments back stage for the cast, crew, and musicians. A box of refreshments will be provided, all you have to do is set it up for the show! This volunteer shift is about 1 hour.
